In that case, I'll throw a few more items on you. Get a Sam's club membership. It's free for the first year I believe, not sure about your area though. Buy your non-perishables in bulk, you'll save a ton. 50 lbs bags of rice. The huge packages of ground beef (freeze them). Potatoes can go bad, so I wouldn't buy more than you can eat before they turn into small plants. Also, if you shop in small ethnic stores, you can save a lot of money off the name-brand store prices. Tortillas are often a lot cheaper at Jose's Mexican Food Store than Walmart, for example. While we're at it, you can make some great Mexican food on a lean budget. If you're really trying to save money, lay off the alcohol. For the cost of a decent case of beer, you could eat for at least a week. The cheap stuff isn't worth drinking anyways. Don't go out to eat if you can help it. If you need a cheap quick meal, Taco Bell is filling for not a lot of money. This is all common sense stuff most everyone already knows, but there could be a gem of info in here you may not have thought about, so take it for what it's worth.
